Wedding Photography – Melissa & Ryan 5/8/10

I photographed Melissa and Ryan’s wedding a couple weekends ago in Rockford, Michigan, and we had a great time! Melissa planned quite a bit of time for portraits into the day, and I think it really paid off. Here are a few shots from the day… And you can also view a little slideshow here:

Portraits of my son at 7 weeks old

Ok, I had to post a few new portraits of my son….I brought him into the studio yesterday and he seemed to have a great time (until a little spitup ended our session–I’ll refrain from posting that image…).
Wedding Slideshow – Kim and Rob at the Kalamazoo Nature Center

I photographed my first wedding of the season last Saturday. Kim and Rob had a beautiful ceremony in the Butterfly Garden at the Kalamazoo Nature Center, and we lucked out with the weather…..the storms cleared for just long enough! Congrats to Kim and Rob!
SLIDESHOW
More to come…..I have two weddings this weekend…!
Engagement Portrait – Jill & Koen

Oddly enough, I had two couples last week that wanted to shoot their engagement portraits at the same random park south of Kalamazoo. Of course, after I saw it, I understood why–it’s a beautiful little park with great light and lots to work with. Here are a few photographs from my time with Jill and [...]
Engagement Portrait – Chrissy & Neil

I’ll be photographing Chrissy and Neil’s wedding in August, and we had a fun time wandering around Downtown Kalamazoo a couple weeks ago for their engagement shoot. They’re a fun couple and I think we really captured that in some of the photos…
Derek Jeter’s Hometown – On Assignment for USA Today

USA Today called a couple weeks ago with an assignment for a story about Derek Jeter’s home town. Since they don’t call every day, I was fairly excited about the opportunity… Being new to Kalamazoo myself, I didn’t even know that Jeter played baseball at Kalamazoo Central High School, but it turns out that he [...]
Baby Rocky!

My son was born this past Monday, and within five minutes I was taking his first pictures! Rocky Sage McGuire was born at 11:37am in a water birth after a marathon 45 hours of labor. My wife Megan handled it beautifully and we’re so excited to add this new member to our family. If I’ve [...]
My babies…..

For those that don’t know, my wife and I are expecting our first child any moment now! I finally got Megan in the studio the other day for a few pregnancy portraits, so I thought I’d share a couple. By the way, if I’m slow to respond to any emails or voice mails over the [...]
Engagement Portrait – Ryan & Sarah

I’ll be photographing Ryan and Sarah’s wedding in October and spent a couple hours with them over the weekend to shoot some engagement portraits. Ryan and Sarah are a fun couple and since they’ve been relying on Amtrak every time they want to see each other (Ryan’s living in Chicago, Sarah’s in Kalamazoo), they wanted [...]
Family Portrait – The Withers (Part 2)

The Withers family added its newest member on December 30, so I made a trip back to their home for another round of portraits. Congrats to them!
Newborn Portrait – Ellie Mae

It’s been an exciting week for my family…. My niece, Ellie Mae, was born on my birthday in Davenport, Iowa! Naturally, I had to bring my camera to the hospital…
Here are a few shots…
Family Portrait – The Withers

I recently had Part 1 of a portrait shoot with the Withers family….Part 2 will be coming in January after the birth of the newest member of their family!
Family Portrait – The MacDonalds

I photographed some family portraits for the MacDonald family over the weekend. We did a short session indoors and then braved the cold for a trip to Kalamazoo’s Milham Park (it really wasn’t that cold, but this is my first Michigan winter and I’ve reserved the right to whine =)
Family Portrait – The Fehrs

I shot some family portraits of my sister-in-law’s family over the Thanksgiving weekend as well. Adorable kids!
Family Portrait – Wiechmann Grandchildren

My wife and I traveled down to Peoria, Illinois for the Thanksgiving weekend and visited with family and old friends (we both grew up there). My friend Niccole, who I’ve known since we were in 2nd grade, asked me to shoot some portraits of her kids with her sister’s kids for the grandparents, so we [...]
Family Portrait – The Wilfongs

I had a fun time shooting some family portraits for the Wilfongs at Milham Park this weekend. It was a bit of a challenge to get everyone facing the right direction since Bella the dog was distracted by the squirrels and Chase was, well, two and a half years old… =) …but all the pieces [...]
Newborn Portrait – Elahshaia

I had the chance to shoot some newborn portraits for 3-month-old Elahshaia this weekend. She wasn’t the happiest portrait subject I’ve worked with, but we still got some cute photos. See more here.
Senior Portrait – Liz

I had a senior portrait shoot with Liz this weekend at Milham Park in Kalamazoo. She wanted pictures with the fall colors, and they were in full display at the park…although it was a bit cold… =) See more here.
Senior Portrait – Salwa

Salwa and I went to Milham Park in Kalamazoo last weekend for her senior portrait shoot and the fall colors were beautiful! We also did an indoor session at her home. See more here.
Senior Portrait – Lucas

I had the opportunity to photograph Lucas yesterday for his senior portraits. We visited a couple spots around Kalamazoo and found some great backgrounds to work with. If you still need senior portraits, give me a call!
Senior Portraits – Haley

Last week I photographed Haley for her senior portraits. We had a fun time at her friend’s house and found some great picture opportunities. You can see a few more shots here.
The Guys

The weather barely cooperated for Ashley and Ryan’s wedding in Grand Rapids last month. The rain stopped just in time to do some portraits before the ceremony. Here’s one that I liked…
Kimberly & Matthew – Engagement Portraits

I’ll be photographing Kimberly and Matthew’s wedding in September. Here are a couple shots from an engagement portrait session we did this week.
